They Tried to Bury Us Print – Protest Art and Inspirational Art Quotes
They tried to bury us. They didn’t know we were seeds. Such beautiful and profound words that truly express the strength of the human spirit.
This print was inspired by the Women’s March on Washington and all the resistance protests taking place in response to social injustices. I hope it inspires you to get involved, defy, resist, keep the faith and stay woke.
In researching the origins of this inspirational quote, I found that it is a Mexican proverb that has been paraphrased from the Greek poet Dinos Christianopoulis.
The background of this print is highly textured and painted in light blues and purple with highlights of dark blue and white. The words have been cut from hand painted papers and collaged onto the background. The oranges and purples of the words create a contrast to the background for a bright and uplifting print.
The print measures 8.5 x 11″ with an approximate 1/2″ white border.
It’s printed on high quality, acid free premium matte paper, packaged in a cellophane sleeve and shipped in a rigid mailer.
Please note colors may vary slightly on different monitors.
